Jef Hartsel just gave me the latest Gravis Spring/Summer 2012 catalog and besides the awesome shoes we all skate-in, there is one layout that stands on its own. I scanned those images along with Hartsel's interview to share below. Thanks to both Hartsel and Oblow. Aloha!
Jef Hartsel created the artwork for the latest Gravis, "Filter Duro" shoes with four customized, "Cloud 9" insoles (Arto Saari, Dylan Rieder, Jake Johnson, Sammy Winter). Check them out below and ask for them at your local skate shop. Also, check the EZ Ryder blog, HERE for more details and photos from this awesome project.
Gravis has a photography show on August 23, 2011 in Antwerp, Belgium. Following the exhibition, a film screening of their short film will be held on August 25, 2011.
The very first pair of skate shoes were given to me by my dear and departed friend, Kenny Brimer when we were 14 years old... In late December 2009, Kenny once again sent me a pair of shoes to skate-in... This time, he swore by his Gravis' and sent me a pair from Hawaii. I've worn them with pride and gently skated them occasionally ever since. With Moblow's gift of 10 pairs, I'll definitely be shredding them and have extended the same gift-giving by sharing it with our riders.
Big MAHALO to Mark Oblow, OG Hawaii ripper for the Gravis delivery and to Kenny for his generosity over the years. Kenny Forever... Roll Forever...
