With more than 25 years on board and with some kind of camera in his hand, Mark Whiteley has been part of and documented skateboard culture most of his life, extending from his home in the San Francisco Bay Area all around the world through his work as the editor-in-chief at SLAP magazine and website for 12 years as well as a videographer before that. A collection of his photographic work, titled "This Is Not A Photo Opportunity," was published by international art house Gingko Press in 2009, and was carried by the San Franciso Museum Of Modern Art, as well as many other outlets. Juxtapoz magazine, The San Francisco Chronicle, Nike, The San Francisco Exploratorium, and many more have made use of his work and knowledge, and he has exhibited his photographs in America, Asia and Europe.
